The Mangalorean link for ‘Life of Pie’

Mangalore, March 8, 2013 : If the Oscar winning movie “Life of Pie” is making news, not many are aware that a Mangalorean youngster too has a share in the success of the film that bagged four Academy Awards.

The talented youngster who had a chance to prove his talent in the much acclaimed film is H Gautam.

Son of Nayana Kumar and Sudha hailing from Bejai in Mangalore, Gautam is presently a director of Environmental Design Engineering. After his primary education in Mangalore, Gautam had completed his B.Sc in Animation at Manipal University and later had worked for a Hyderabad based film making company named Rhythm and Hues.

Gautam has been a part of Life of Pie by being its director for visual effects in simulating environment.

Among other movies of which he was a part are ‘Alvin and the Chipmunks : Chipwrecked” movie for which he was the technical lighting director.
