Mangaluru, May 14, 2015: It is reported that  a  total of 33,724 fresh candidates wrote SSLC examinations in Dakshina Kannada district in April,  of these  29,706 have passed (88.08 per cent). Based on the percentage wise results, Bantwal block has stopped  in the tally of results as compared to all other blocks.

Of the 33,070 regular fresh candidates, comprising 16,552 boys and 16,518 girls who appeared for the examination, 29,548 (14,089 boys and 15,459 girls) have passed, that is, 89.35 pass percentage.

The block wise pass percentage is as follows: Bantwal - 93.75, Belthangady - 88.50, Mangaluru North - 88.55, Mangaluru South 86.50, Moodbidri - 90.93, Puttur- 89.11 and Sullia- 89.17.

Private candidates :  Of the 654 private fresh candidates (169 boys and 823 girls) in the district, 158 have passed (106 boys and 52 girls). The pass percentage of private fresh candidates in the district is 19.20 p.c, the fail percentage being 80.80 p.c. The block wise pass percentage of private candidates is: Bantwal - 22.14 pc, Belthangady - 8.06 pc, Mangaluru North - 26.63 pc, Mangaluru South - 18.18 pc, Moodbidri - 20.00 pc, Puttur - 12.79 pc and Sullia 20 pc.

Caste wise results :  Of 2,361 students (1,145 boys and 1,216 girls) belonging to scheduled castes, 1,938 (897 boys and 1041 girls) have passed and the total pass percentage is 82.08 per cent.

The block wise pass percentage is: Bantwal - 90.65, Belthangady - 81.25, Mangaluru North - 85.61, Mangaluru South - 82.96, Moodbidri - 84.27, Puttur - 75.04 and Sullia - 80.62 per cent.

Of the 1,340 students (662 boys and 678 girls) belonging to scheduled tribes, who appeared for the examinations in the district, 1,173 (543 boys and 630 girls) have passed and the total pass percentage in the district is 87.54 per cent.  Block wise pass percentage is: Bantwal - 92.13 pc, Belthangady - 88.13 pc, Mangaluru North - 82.68 pc, Mangaluru South - 88.61 pc, Moodbidri - 90.32 pc, Puttur - 87.16 pc and Sullia - 81.87 pc.

Category wise ; Government schools in the district have achieved a total pass percentage of 84.77 with 9,567 students passed out of 11,286 appeared candidates. Aided schools have achieved a total pass percentage of 89.66 per cent with 11,252 students passed out of 12,549 candidates appeared for the exams.Unaided schools have achieved 94.52 pc pass percentage with 8,729 students out of 9,235 students, passed. 

Cent percent  results  :  One hundred and sixteen schools (government, aided and unaided put together) have achieved 100 per cent results in the district. Two government schools, one aided school and three unaided schools have secured a pass percentage of 31 to 50 per cent. Two government, three aided, two unaided schools have registered a pass percentage of 51 to 60 per cent. Overall this year the results have broken record with the introduction of the new sysytem for SSLC.
