Three arrested for trying to send marijuana into jail

Mangaluru, Jan 8, 2016:Police Commissioner M. Chandra Sekhar has said that three persons were arrested on the charge of attempt to send marijuana inside the Mangaluru District Prison on Tuesday.

Jubaida (45), her daughter Misriya (19) and Tasreeb (45) were arrested for allegedly making an attempt to send inside the prison 300 grams of marijuana.

The police said that the marijuana was hidden inside a plastic bag containing clothes meant for Haris and Altaf, who are in the prison.

Marijuana was detected during scanning of the bag by the prison staff, he said.
