Mangalore, June 12, 2014: Dr H Venkatesh Prasanna, of the office of the IGP western range. A very human person, a scholar, a poet and a courageous Police officer with a soft and friendly image has been promoted as Dy.

superintendent of police, along with two others, seniority and merit are the considerations in the Police force. The other two are N G Bhaskar Rai,  district central records bureau (DCRB), Mangalore, B P Dinesh Kumar, anti-Naxal force, Udupi.

It may be recalled that  Dr Prasanna earned a doctorate (PhD) for his thesis on the ’Police System in pre-Independence Karnataka’ from the Kannada University in Hampi, his guide was Dr K G Vasanta Madhava.Dr. Prasanna has twice won the chief minister’s gold medal for distinguished service. His poetry in Kannada is really admirable.
