Tracing of infant’s body in river : Cops nab mother

Mangalore, July 15, 2013 : Police investigating into the recent case of the finding of the body of a new born in a river at Talapady have been able to track down the mother of the child  at Manjeshwara Mujibail. She has been arrested and will be subject to a DNA Test to verify   she was actually the mother of the abandoned infant which has died.

It is learnt, the police who raided a private hospital at Ullal on July 13, Saturday could get details regarding the woman  and subsequently arrest her.

Meanwhile, T Abdul Khader, the owner of the hospital said the woman had come to the hospital saying she was three months pregnant and wanted to undergo an abortion as her drunkard husband was harassing her. He said on examination she was found to be eight months pregnant and had given birth to a baby and had been discharged  after the stipulated number of days.
