Mangaluru, Dec 30, 2016: A 48-year-old fish trader was assaulted by three persons near his house in Subash Nagar in Mangaluru South police station limits on Friday morning.

According to eyewitness accounts, Haneef (48) was attacked just as he was starting his bike around 6 a.m. at the parking lot of Abish Homes apartment, where he resides. Haneef was hit on his leg as he was climbing up to his flat. When he raised an alarm, other residents of the apartment rushed to help and the attackers fled.

The Mangaluru South police said there was a complaint from Haneef two months ago about some persons waylaying him and attempting to attack him.
