Trio arrested for stealing ballot boxes from DC office

Mangalore, Jan 22,2013:  Three persons including an employee of the Taluk Officer have been arrested on the charges of stealing ballot boxes from the DC office, on January 21, Monday.

Two of the  accused with ballot boxes in their possession caught the attention of Pandeshwar SI Shivarudrappa who was  in his morning rounds in the wee hours of Monday and were subsequently arrested.

The arrested are Unnikrishna alias Vinu (35) from Tiruvananthapuram, Ganesh Poojari of Kuppepadavu and P Ganesh of Pandeshwar, a taluk office employee. The third accused was arrested on the basis of the information provided by the first two accused.

During interrogation  the trio revealed that they had hidden four ballot boxes behind AC office. A total of six ballot boxes have been seized. A case has been registered and investigations are in progress.
