Truck crushes bike’s pillion rider near BC Road

Bantwal, Dec 31, 2023: On Friday, a tragic incident occurred at BC Road, resulting in the death of a pillion rider who was struck by a truck. The accident unfolded as a goods truck, en route from Mangaluru to Bengaluru, collided with a two-wheeler from behind.

The victim, identified as Moideen Rameez, lost his life in the mishap, while the rider, Ahmmed Sajad, sustained injuries. According to the police, the truck driver was found to be driving negligently. The impact caused the pillion rider to be trapped under the truck’s wheels, while the rider fell onto the road.

Though they were both rushed to a hospital at Bantwal, the doctor who examined the pillion rider declared him dead. Ahmmed Sajad has been shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

In response to the incident, a case has been officially registered at the Bantwal traffic police station.
