Mangalore, June 25, 2012 : Speaking at a leadership program organized jointly by the Sullia Block Congress Committee and Sullia GP, Motamma, opposition leader of Vidhan Parishad, said that political leaders must not complain that nobody is giving them the recognition they deserve because true leaders are only those who develop leadership qualities among themselves and understand the problems of the public.
Using the opportunity to criticize the BJP-led state government, Motamma said that BJP leaders who have robbed the state of its natural resources are now on the verge of getting a long sentence in jail. Stating that the BJP is drowned in its own scams, she said that, after the BJP came to power, water, electricity, and even soil are getting scarce in the state.
Former minister B. Janardhan Poojary inaugurated the event. He recalled the active role played by previous Congress leaders in building the party. M. Venkappa Gowda, president of the Sullia unit of the Congress, and Congress leaders T. M. Shaheed, Dr. Raghu, Saraswati Kamath, and others were present.
