Trust to promote Konkani to be launched today

Udupi, Dec 19, 2015 :  As per reports, an organisation, ’Konkani Sansar Trust’, will be launched to promote Konkani language and literature here on Dec 19, Saturday.

Speaking to media, Nageshkumar G. Rao, president of the Trust, said that some publishers were ready to publish Konkani books. Though the government had formed an academy to promote Konkani, but this had not yielded the desired results. Hence, the trust would make its own efforts in this direction.

Writer Tara Bhat, artiste Sangeeta Bhakta and theatre personality Shanthram Baliga would be felicitated during the launch programme to be held at the Nutana Ravindra Manpta on MGM College campus at 7 p.m. on Dec 19,Saturday. The launch would be followed by a Konkani play ‘Undra Peel,’ he said.
