Tulu Gobbulu will be held on Nov 8

Belthangady Nov 6: Mr. Ganghadar Mittamar, the president of the district sports committee, has informed that the tulu "gobbulu" or traditional sports competitions will be organized as part of the Vishwa Tulu Sammelana on Nov 8 in the grounds of the Government Pre-university College, Belthangady. 

Addressing press people at a conference on Wednesday, Mr. Mittamar said that the organizers of Tulu Gobbulu expect more than 5,000 people to participate in the events. A traditional Tulu lunch will be provided for everybody. A procession featuring the traditional costumes of Tulunad will mark the beginning of the Tulu Gobbulu. 

Dharmasthala Dharmadikari Dr. Veerendra Heggade will inaugurate the Tulu Gobbulu. Jayavarmaraj Ballal, the member of the administrative committee of Shri Somanatheshwar Temple, Belthangady, will preside over the programme. The chief guest will be religious leader of Belthangady Lawrence Mukkui. 

The Tulu Gobbulu sports committee comprises Mr. Gangadhar Mittamar as president, Manohar Padival as vice president, Vasanth Salian as secretary, and Jeevandhar Kumar as treasurer.
