Mangaluru, Feb 4,2017: A team of the District Child Protection Unit, the Childline and city police on Friday rescued two girls from a house in Panjimogaru.
Following a tip-off, the team went to a rented house and questioned Mahaboobi and her husband, Kajasab, who allegedly admitted to putting two girls to work in a house in the locality. The team went to the house in Padukodi in Panjimogaru and rescued a 13-year-old girl and a nine-year-old girl. The two girls hail from north Karnataka. The Kavoor police have registered a case under the Child Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act 1986.
