Mangaluru: The MSW Department of St Aloysius College will organise a two-day national-level seminar on ’Education for Building People’s Capacity towards Sustainable Development’.  The seminar is being organised at the Eric Mathias Hall of the College on September 22 and 23.

According to reports, Art of Living Foundation (Bengaluru) River Rejuvenation Project Director Dr Y Lingaraju will be the chief guest for the inaugural function. Rani Chennamma University (Belagavi) Department of Social Work Head Dr Ashok D’Souza will deliver the keynote address.

Sessions on various topics would be handled by resource persons like women’s rights activist Geetha Menon, National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development former faculty Dr Anuradha B S, Nimhans Health Education Department assistant professor Dr Meena K S and Mysuru University Political Science professor Prof Muzzafer Assadi.

The seminar will include promoting environment sustainability through education, education for women empowerment, life skill education for building children’s capacity, promoting wellness of health through health education, employee education for human resource development, education for people’s participation in local self governance and empowering people’s rights through education etc, said a press release.  For any further needed information, one may contact the seminar convener Dr Loveena Lobo at 94484 60525.
