Mangalore Today News Network

Udupi, Oct 24, 2012: A hotel owner hanged himself in his house at Ashwattakatte in Nejar near Santhekatte in Udupi on Tuesday.

The deceased is K. Sathish Rao (42), managing director of Shri Ramakrishna Hotel. He has left behind his wife and two sons.

His servant and his son, who were in the house when Rao committed suicide, report that he woke up at 5:00 a.m., went for a walk, and went back to sleep after getting back home. However, when his son entered his room at around 7:00 a.m., he saw Mr. Rao hanging from the ceiling of the room. He immediately rushed his father to hospital, where he died.

Mr. Rao had sent his wife Shobha to her parents’ house, owing to which she was not at home.

The Malpe police have registered a case according to a complaint lodged by Suresh Rao, the deceased’s brother. They are now trying to find out why the hotel owner took such a step.
