Unaccounted cash, silver worth Rs 16 lakhs hidden in KSRTC bus seized; 2 arrested

Kasargod, Feb 7. 2016: Revenue officials of Manjeshwar have confiscated  silver articles worth Rs 15 lakhs and a cash of Rs 94,000 which was being transported unauthorisedly in a KSRTC bus on February 6, Saturday. Two persons of Tamil Nadu origin  who were found in possession of the silver and cash were arrested.

Those arrested are Jayakumar (32) and Mahalinga (50). The  cash and silver were found hidden in a bag which was on the last seat of the bus when the revenue officials were on a routine inspection of vehicles at Manjeshwar Check Post.

Investigations are underway.
