Unknown miscreants dump pig carcass in mosque premises

Mangalore, Nov 12, 2012 : Unknown miscreants have dumped the headless body of a pig on the premises of a mosque in Mallur – Demmale on the outskirts of Mangalore.

Several attempts have been made to trigger communal violence recently. Local people feel that this incident is linked to the incidents of Suralpady and Farangipete, where carcasses of dead animals were dumped on religious property.

A devotee who visited the mosque to offer fajr namaz at 5:00 a.m. noticed the carcass and alerted everybody. Soon a group of local Muslims gathered outside the mosque and began protesting.

The Kankanady police brought the situation under control and beefed up security in the area.

Although the identity of the miscreants who dumped the carcass on the premises of the mosque is not known, local people feel that it is the work of fundamentalist groups.

A cleric voiced his opinion that it is the work of fundamentalist who attempt to wreck communal harmony during the time of religious festivals.
