Udupi, Nov 3: Two girls, who are staying at Bethel Boarding Hostel in Udyavar, have filed a complaint at the Kaup Police Station that the warden of the hostel was making attempts to forcibly convert them to Christianity.

The girls are Megha H L (26), daughter of Lokesh H M of Hethur in Sakleshpur, Hassan, and her friend Shilpalatha. Both are pursuing a course in computer technology in Udupi Government Pre University College. They had joined Bethel Boarding Hostel on June 16.

In their complaint, they stated that the warden, Ms Saroja Margaret, threatened to put them out of the hostel if they refuse to read the Bible daily. She also threatened that breakfast would be served only if they recite 10 sentences from the Bible everyday. She would also take the students to the Ajjarkad Church of Udupi and make them participate in the services.
