August 14, Tuesday, 2012, Mangalore: Residents of Bangra Kulur along with Communist Party of India (Marxist) activists staged a protest in front of Mangalore city corporation office demanding better facilities for Bangra Kulur residents.      CPI (M) Mangalore city Secretary Sunil Kumar Bajal said that around 100 and more houses in Bangra Kulur has been denied basic facilities like drinking water and roads.

The old bridge which has been the only connection between Dambel and Bangra Kulur is in a dilapidated condition and this has posed a threat to the motorists and pedestrians using it.The stagnation of sewage also has led to several diseases thronging the area.

“We are living in a miserable condition. The bad roads, the infested water, the bridge, and mainly the drainage system have made us very difficult to live. We only hope the corporation takes up measures to make our condition better” said Saroj,a resident of Bangra Kulur and a homemaker.
