Woman found murdered, man hanging in her house at Bajal

Mangalore, May 18: A woman was found murdered and a man was found hanging in her house in Bajal on Monday. The deceased are Shanthi (46) of Pragathinagara and Mohandas (46) of J M Road, Bajal. The incident reportedly took place at 11:30 a.m.

 

 

 

Mohandas was employed in a workshop in Maroli and was also involved in drainage contracts. Shanthi was a housewife and her husband was a rickshaw driver. Shanthi was stabbed to death; and Mohandas was discovered hanging in the same house.

Police suspect that the two were having an illicit affair and that Mohandas must have stabbed Shanthi before hanging himself. Nobody was at home when the incident took place.

Shanthi’s daughter discovered the crime when she returned home after her examination. She called her father who in turn informed the police. Seemanth Kumar Singh, the commissioner of police, visited the scene. The police have registered the case.
