Mangalore, Oct 17, 2014: A 30-year-old worker was found dead in a room on the third floor of Singal Chamber Complex in Maidan 4th cross road on Wednesday night.

According to Mangalore North police, P. Ganesh, the security guard of the complex who oversaw occupancy of rooms in the complex, allowed Suresh (30) and three others to stay in a room on October 12. The next day the group was asked to stay in another room where four persons from Gadag were already staying.

The police said Ganesh, who then left for treatment of his children, returned to the complex on Wednesday night. He found Suresh dead at a corner of the passage on the third floor while he was checking the building. The police said Suresh was suspected to have been murdered.

Assaulted

Four persons reportedly assaulted Praveen Carlo (26), who has been reportedly involved in some criminal cases, near Vamajoor junction on Thursday.

The Mangalore Rural police said an old enmity might have been the cause for attack on Carlo. He has been admitted to a private hospital, the police said.
