Mangalore, Feb 9: Samanvaya Mangalore and Ursuline Franciscan Educational Society Deralakatte jointly organized a 3-day residential workshop “Virtues” at Somarpann Generalate Conference Hall in Deralakatte on Feb 5 - 7.
Rev Sr Doreen D’Souza, the Ursuline Franciscan Superior General, inaugurated the workshop and said that values can be acquired with efforts and virtues ought to be polished regularly. She urged her listeners to polish and practice their virtues before preaching them to others.
The resource person was Dr. Padmini Pai, an NRI from Australia. She guided the workshop in a very creative way incorporating in it group discussions, skits, songs, and so on. The workshop was based on the key points of speaking the language of virtues, setting boundaries, spiritual companionship, honoring the spirit, and teachable moments.
Sr Doreen D’Souza gave certificates to 19 participants from all over Kerala and Karnataka at the end of the workshop. Sr. Lilly Fernandes, the secretary of the Ursuline Franciscan Educational Society, conducted the workshop and welcomed everybody. Rev Dr Ronald Cutinha, the director of Samanvaya, conducted the evaluation of the workshop.
