Speaking at the inaugural of the World Pharmacists’ Day celebrations at Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MCOPS). Further, a media release by Manipal University here said September 25 is celebrated internationally as the World Pharmacists Day. This year’s theme was ‘Pharmacist – Your partner in health’.
The students of the Manipal University Association of Pharmacy Students (MAPS) and MCOPS organised several events. The students did a street play and a skit on the theme ‘Pharmacy Profession in India’ which was appreciated widely.
The keynote speaker for the stage programme was Atmaram Pawar, Vice Principal, Pune College of Pharmacy, Bharatiya Vidhya Peeth, Pune, who emphasised on the role of pharmacists and the contributions made by them to the healthcare system. For the first time in MCOPS, the students organised a panel discussion on various pressing concerns of the students regarding the profession.
The panellists were students from B. Pharm, M. Pharm, Pharm D. and a research scholar.
In Mangaluru, NGSM Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Deralakatte, observed World Pharmacists’ Day on Friday. It organised a rally on the occasion.
