Mangalore, June 29, 2014:  Sarayoo Bala Yakshavrunda Makkala Mela, Kodikal will organise in Mangalore, from July 7 to 12, from 5.30 pm to 9.45 pm and on July 13, from 9.30 am to 10 pm.  ‘Sri Ravi Alevooraaya Aivatthara Sambrama Sarani’, a series on Yakshagana programmes, at Town Hall,

Addressing a press conference here, DK District KSP President Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said entrepreneur Divaana Govinda Bhat will inaugurate July 7, at 5.30 pm, ‘Sri Ravi Alevooraaya Aivatthara Sambrama Sarani’, a series on Yakshagana programmes, at Town Hall Mangalore.

‘Sri Krishna Parijaata- Narakaasura Moksha’ Bayalata will be staged, wherein Ravi Alevooraya would perform as ‘Sathyabhame’. On July 8, Sri Idagunji Mahaganapati Yakshagana Mandali Keremane will stage ‘Karthaveeryarjuna’. English Yakshagana ‘Yakshanandana’ of P A Ithal will be staged on July 9. ‘SyrandriKeechaka’ will be staged by Yakshagana Balaga Panandoor, Kulai. Ravi Alevooraya will perform as ‘Syrandri’.

Kalkura said that on July 10, Yakshagana artistes Kadri Navaneet Shetty, Kadali Kala Kendra Founder President Ramesh Bhat and ‘Hindi Yakshagana Manch’ Director B Prakash Pai will be honoured. Sarayoo Bala Yakshavrunda students’ troupe will perform aHindi Yakshagana Bayalata‘Sri Ekadashi Devi Mahatme’, from 6 pm to 7 pm. Senior artistes will stage ‘Choodamani- Lankadahana’, where Ravi Alevooraya will perform as ‘Seethadevi’.

On July 11, Sarayoo Bala Yakshavrunda students will perform ‘Jambavati Kalyana’, followed by ‘Kumara Vijaya’ by Kadali Kala Kendra’. On July 12, a music concert will be held from 4 pm to 5.30 pm. ‘Dakshadhwara- Girija Kalyana’ will be performed by senior artistes, where Alevooraya would act as ‘Dakshayini’. On July 13, events would begin from 9.30 am.

‘Mahila Yakshagana Sambrama’, which includes ‘Rukmangada Charitre’ Yakshagana will be followed by ‘Sri Devi Mahishamardhini’. ‘Gurudakshine’, ‘Yugala Yakshagaana’, ‘Ekavyakti Yakshagana’ by Gautham D K will be held.

Karavali Group of Colleges President S Ganesh Rao and Yakshagana artiste Gundimajalu Gopala Bhat will be felicitated. ‘Rati Kalyana’ Yakshagana will be staged. Those who are working in the field of Yakshagana including Sharath Kumar Kadri, Shivananda Keremane, P Santhosh Ithal, P Shivaram Bhat, PShivaram Bhat, Poornima Prabhakar Pejavar will also be honoured.
