Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Oct 23, 2012: A young man miraculously remained alive in spite of being pushed off the moving Nethravathi Express near Nada on Oct 23, Tuesday.

Vinay (26) of Rajajinagar in Bangalore is an engineer at a Goa-based restaurant. Since he did not get a bus ticket to Bangalore from Goa, he got a general compartment ticket from Goa to Mangalore, after which he planned to get a bus ticket from Mangalore to Bangalore. Vinay wanted to go home for Vijayadashami.

The train left Goa at around 12:30 a.m., and when it reached Nada in Kundapur at around 4:00 a.m. someone pushed Vinay off the train. He sustained serious head injuries and was unable to move till someone found him lying by the railway tracks at 7:00 a.m. He also lost his wallet, gold chain, and gold ring.

Railway track inspectors spotted him early in the morning and informed Shreedhar Badakere, who in turn informed his friends. Finally, Sahayavani 24/7 volunteers admitted Vinay into Chinmayee Hospital in Kundapur.

Kannur railway officials have found his mobile, but his travelling bag has not yet been found.
