Mangalore -Yeshwanthapura train soon to become day train

Mangalore, April 1: The Railway Department has agreed to grant one of the demands of Mangaloreans. The Mangalore - Yeshwanthapura day train, which is now a tri-weekly, will become a daily train from April. The exact date is not yet known; but it will be determined after making an analysis of the availability of bogies. 


MP Nalin Kumar Kateel met K H Muniyappa, the minister of state in the railway ministry, to urge him to convert this train into a daily. Accordingly, orders were passed, and the news about the conversion of the tri-weekly train into a daily was given to MP Nalin Kumar Kateel by the divisional manager of south western division of railways in Mysore. 


In the past, the Puttur Railway Passengers Associaiton sent letters to the MP, the district-in-charge minister, and the minister of state for railways, demanding the conversion of this train into a daily train. The association had also sought details regarding traffic, reservation, as well as improvement of railway connectivity between Bangalore and coastal Karnataka.
