Mangalore, Apr 1: Students’ Federation of India (SFI) has warned that it will stage an intense protest if the government fails to withdraw its decision to establish private universities. The committee members of the SFI of Udupi district staged a protest and submitted a memorandum to the governor via the DC on March 31.
The SFI declares that, by permitting Azim Premji and others to establish private universities, the government has paved the way for problematic situations to arise in future. The government will have no control over the quality of the education provided in these universities, causing injustice to the students of Karnataka, it warned.
District Convener Kaviraj, Sujith, Udupi Taluk Convener Mahesh, Harsha Shetty, President of Kundapur Taluk Committee Raviraj, and Secretary of SFI Harsha were also present.
