Mangaluru,Feb 28,2020 DHNS: Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management will organise the zonal- level contest of NASA Space Apps Challenge at Sahyadri Campus in Mangaluru on February 29, according to a press release issued by the college.
Space Apps is NASA’s annual Global Hackathon, first held in 2012, and serves as an innovation, incubation and civic engagement programme.
“Space Apps Challenge will provide an opportunity to solve massive problems we are facing in today’s day and age,” the release stated.
The challenge invites teams comprising 2 to 8 students, who are pursuing any course above the 12th grade (PUC+2 both technical and non-technical), to present their ideas on the predefined fields.
The teams have to present their ideas to a jury consisting of various professionals, who have been part of big conglomerates across the world. The teams with the best ideas will qualify for the state-level contest and an all-expense paid trip to NASA for the international contest.
All the participants will receive ‘Certificate of Participation’ from the NASA. The best teams will be awarded internships at leading corporates in a field of their
choice.
To encourage women participants, all the women contestants will be receive ‘Women Innovator Certificate’ from NITI Aayog.
