Monsoon likely to enter coast in June first week

Mangaluru, May 31, 2020: Monsoon is expected to enter coastal Karnataka in the first week of June, according to Indian Meteorological Department officials.

Monsoon which is likely to enter Kerala on June 1   will make an onward movement into Karnataka in the next few days. The coastal districts are expected to receive good amount of rainfall this year.

The coastal region has received good pre-monsoon rains this year. From March 1 to  May 29, the district has received 216 mm of rainfall as against the expected 210 mm rainfall. Udupi district has received 158 mm rainfall during this period.
