Former Don Yekkur Baba passas away

Mangaluru, August 15, 2020: Gangster-turned-social activist Yekkur Baba alias Shubhakar Shetty passed away. Yekkur Baba was admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru and on August 14, breathed his last without responding to the treatment.

It is learnt that last week his mother had also died after suffering from health issues. After the cremation of his mother, Yekkur Baba was suffering from fever and had gone to the hospital for a check-up. During the test, Yekkur Baba was confirmed to be positive for the Coronavirus and was admitted to the hospital.

Baba was an accused in the murder of Prithvipal Rai but was acquitted in 2006 due to lack of evidence.
