Mangalore, April 17: A meeting of senior police officials, ANF, and the revenue, forest, and electricity departments was convened on Friday. DGP of Karkala Ajai Kumar Singh presided over the meeting. At the end of the meeting, IG (western range) Gopal Hosur informed journalists that the meeting was called to discuss safety and security measures in the Naxal-infested areas during the GP elections.
Hosur also said that the DGP has decided to conduct special programmes called Victim/Complainant Day for the police department. This programme will be held at all the police stations of Karnataka on the third Sunday of every month, enabling complainants to interact with the police officials and find out details regarding cases and the various investigative steps taken by the police.
Hosur also said that “Spandana,” a programme introduced by him in the Western Range will be introduced in other police stations too.
The DGP also announced that each police station will adopt a village with the purpose of making it free of crime.
