Udupi SpUdupi, April 23: Pravin Pawar, superitendent of police of Udupi on Thursday appeared before the high court in connection with a contempt case. He filed an affidavit stating that he is ready to give protection with regards to implementing a court order involving demolition of a temple.


However, one K Siddartha, assistant registrar of Co-Operative Societies was hesitant in his reply and the court reminded him that he will have to face consequences if he says he can’t implement court order.


The contempt is filed by one Varijakshi alleging that the authorities have not given possession of the property despite court decree in her favour. The authorities who went to demolish the temple which is built on complinant’s property didn’t complete the task after the intervention local MLA Raghupathy Bhat and a local swamiji.
