Udupi, April 23: Kutpady Anand Ganiga (74), founder of Udupi Rangabhoomi, breathed his last on April 23. He is survived by wife and three sons.
Anand Ganiga, who had played a pivotal role in establishment and expansion of Udupi Rangabhoomi, passed away after a brief illness. He was 74. He has worked with Udupi Rangabhoomi for 42 years. He was also served as chairman of the organization.
Contributions
Ganiga was a renowned theatre artiste. As a great contributor to tulu drama, he has written two Kannada and three tulu dramas. Many of his articles were published in various papers. He was also famous for his role in Yakshagana. The Rajyotsava, Nataka Academy and Aryabhatta were the awards, which he received in his life.
