SJEC organizes national conference on economic revival

Mangalore, April 30: The National Conference on “Economic Revival: Business Perspectives and Opportunities,” organized by the Department of Business Administration of St Joseph Engineering College (SJEC), was inaugurated on April 29 at 9:30 a.m. in the Conference Hall of the college. 


Dr. Gopal K Kadekodi, the former director of the Institute for Social and Economic Change in Bangalore delivered the keynote address, highlighting the power of savings and explaining the factors responsible for the current economic crisis. 


Dr. N K Thingalaya, the former chairman of Syndicate Bank and chairman of the Academic Council of Justice K S Hegde Institute of Management Nitte, was the chief guest of the programme. He spoke about the stability and growth of the Indian economy, banking, and corporate sector. He voiced his opinion that the future is bright and that the corporate giants of India are carving a niche for themselves by competing with the best brands of the world. 


Dr. Joseph Gonsalves, the principal of SJEC, was the guest of honor. He said that the conference will shed light on the intricacies of market behavior and impact of economic recession. 


Fr. Valerian D’Souza, the director of SJEC, was also the guest of honor. He referred to India as a “shining star” progressing rapidly. Msgr. Denis Prabhu, the vicar general of the Diocese of Mangalore, spoke about the power of savings in his presidential address. He asserted that the poorest of the poor, such as farmers, craftsmen, and others, who save and sustain the Indian economy.  


Dr. Prakash Pinto, the dean of MBA, welcomed the gathering. Rev Msgr Denis Prabhu released the proceedings of the national conference. Dr. Anjali Ganesh, the associate professor, gave a preview of the national conference and proposed the vote of thanks. 


Over 100 delegates from various business schools and colleges from all over the country will participate in the national conference.
