4 Capuchin deacons receive holy orders

Mangalore, May 1: Bishop of Mangalore Diocese Fr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza ordained four deacons of the Capuchin order during the Eucharistic celebrations at Our Lady of Pompei Church, Gurpur, on April 29, Thursday. 

Fr. Vincent Furtado, the provincial of the Holy Trinity Province, Karnataka; Fr. Anil Sequiera, the rector of Dharshan Institute of Theology, Bangalore; Fr Michael Pais, the delegate of St Fidelis Province North India; and several priests and lay people participated in the Holy Mass. 

The new priests are Fr. Baptist Rohan Miranda of Gurpur; Fr Vincent D’Souza of Mogarnad; Fr. Manoj Victor D’Souza of Alangar; and Fr Dancy Martis of Moodbelle. 

A felicitation programme was later held for the newly ordained priests. Fr. Victor D’Mello raised the toast and delivered a powerful message to the gathering. 

The programme concluded with a fellowship meal.
