Escort car hits home minister’s car

Kasargod, May 2: Home Minister Dr V S Acharya met with a minor accident recently when his car was hit from behind by the police escort vehicle in Kasargod. Fortunately, there were no casualties. 

Kasargod Deputy Superintendent of Police P Bijoy said that the accident happened at 9:30 a.m. when the home minister’s convoy of 4 vehicles was going to Nellikunnu Masjid. 

When Dr. Acharya’s car slowed down near the junction, the escort car, which failed to break in time, hit it from behind. The home minister was shaken and had to recover at the local BJP office for sometime before proceeding with the journey, said Bijoy. 

The home minister had arrived at Kasargod to participate in the Uroos at Nellikunnu Masjid.
