Governor to inaugurate new trauma centre

Mangalore, May 5: Governor H. R. Bharadwaj will inaugurate the newly constructed trauma centre of Kasturba Hospital in Manipal on Wednesday. 

According to a senior official at the university, the trauma centre has been constructed for emergency purposes. The center has separate areas for trauma and TRIAGE, a clinical lab, a blood bank, a large intensive care unit, and a well-equipped operation theatre for emergency cases. 

Kasturba Hospital also has a well-equipped ambulance run by trained paramedics, who can provide first aid care to people at the sites of accidents and on the way to the hospital.
