Mangalore, May 26: Mehboob Shah, an expert JCB operator hailing from Kenjar, hardly a kilometer from the site of the plane crash, was the first person to find the much-sough-for Black Box of the ill-fated Air India Express Boeing 737-800 that crashed near Mangalore International Airport, claiming 158 innocent lives.
However, Mehboob Shas didn’t even know what a Black Box is. At the commencement of the search operation to find the Black Box several hours after the crash, Nithin Earthmovers, a company commissioned by the officials, ordered Mehboob to start the JCB.
Mehboob worked hard for several hours and finally accomplished the task at 10 a.m. on Tuesday. He lifted a yellow plastic bag beneath the debris of the crashed flight, revealing an object hiding beneath it. The authorities found it to be the evasive Black Box.
