Mangalore, May 28: Pramod Kumar, sub-inspector of Bajpe police station, has been transferred to district special branch of the police in Mangalore.

He was working as sub-inspector of police at Panamboor police station, before transferring to Bajpe police station. Reliable source in police department said that he was transferred to Bajpe police station from Panamboor after some of persons made issue about his way of functioning.

Some days after taking charge in Bajpe police station, SI Pramod Kumar had summoned rowdies associated with the BJP and had made them sign Indemnity Bonds claiming responsibility for any untoward incidents that take place during the GP elections. BJP party had pressured police department to send SI on leave.

Congressmen led by Ivan D’souza had staged protest against the leave order and accused BJP leaders Nalin Kumar Kateel and District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar of using their political clout to send the SI on holiday.
