Prisoner under trial hangs himself in Mangalore sub jail

Mangalore, May 30: Ashok Moolya, who was under trial for manslaughter, committed suicide by hanging himself in the sub jail. Moolya was accused of killing Naveen two years ago. 

Jail authorities say that Moolya had visited the toilet at 3 a.m. from his cell and that they became aware of the suicide only in the morning. Moolya had used his lungi to hang himself. 

The authorities conducted an inquest; and the body is currently being kept in the mortuary at Wenlock Hospital.
