FCKA will organize annual sports day on June 6

Mangalore, June 02:  The Federation of Konkani Catholic Associations (FKCA) will organize its Annual Spots Day - 2010 on June 6 on the grounds of St. Joseph’s Indian High School. A total of 15 associations will compete for the FKCA Champions Trophy. The sports day will include a wide range of sports events and fun games for people of all ages. 


The events include inter association cricket matches, throw ball matches, 4X100m relay, water relay, and bangle relay in addition to vovyo (traditional wedding songs) and sado nesovnche (dressing the bride) contests. Contests such as frog race, pick favorite chocolates, burst balloons, hopping race, blow balloons, sack race, and obstacle race will be held for children of all ages. Contests such as lemon and spoon race and necklace race will be held for the ladies and a 50m running race will be held for the men. A special senior citizens walking race will also be organized. This year, FKCA has added a Bandi Race for men over 40 years of age. 


In addition, the event will include a number of family games and contests for people of all age groups such as modla volchin, mogri phulan bandchin, bride-carrying race, 3-legged race, brick walk, and many more. 


Breakfast, lunch, tea, coffee, soft drinks, and snacks will be available at the venue at affordable rates. Traditional Mangalorean Konkani dishes such as kube mutli, pothrade, kori rotti, warne, manni, ponsacho patholio, haldikolyacho patholio, gario, shevio roce, kailolio, and varieties of pork dishes will be available to delighted gourmets.
