Prominent educationist Dr. Pinto bags Rajeev Gandhi Environment Award

Mangalore, June 4: The Rajeev Gandhi Environment Award will be conferred on Dr. Augustine Pinto, the founder chairman of St. Xavier’s Group of Education Institutions and Ryan International Group of Education Institutions. 

Executive President of the Environment Win of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Mr. Ashokrao More said in a press release that Dr. Pinto will receive the award from the Indian Nationalist Congress on the occasion of the 125th World Environment Day, which will be held on June 5, Saturday. 

Ashokrao Chavan, the chief minister of Maharashtra, will confer the award on Dr. Pinto during a glamorous awards ceremony, which will be held at the Ravindranath Tagore Natya Mandir in Mumbai, said Nithin Kale, the Congress spokesperson. 

Dr. Augustine F. Pinto was born in Neerude in Mangalore. A leading educationist, he has contributed a great deal for the nation’s development in the sphere of education. He served as the former sheriff of metro and the chairman of the National Development Foundation. Today, he is the editor of a monthly bulletin called “Hello Student.”
