Mangalore, June 7: Member Secretary of Task Force for Quality Assurance said that various departments of the government will be executing various tasks annually and that it is the government’s policy that the work is done as per the required standards.
He was addressing journalists during a press conference organized at the Public Works Department (PWD) on June 7, Monday. He said that the PWD will organize a 2-day workshop at TV Raman Pai Convention Centre on June 10 – 11 with the purpose of providing the opportunity for junior engineers to participate in the workshop and gain the required exposure to modern trends in engineering.
C. M. Udasi, the minister for public works, will inaugurate the event in the presence of the District-in-charge Minister Krishna J. Palemar. Engineering experts from different parts of India will present 10 technical lectures. 300 engineers from 4 districts will participate in the seminar.
He also said that the chief minister and the minister of public works have taken a joint decision to constitute a task force to not only monitor various aspects of the execution of government work, but also to enhance and maintain its quality. The task force comprises 10 engineers with Dr. C. S. Vishwanath as the chairman. Superintendent Engineer of PWD B. S. Balakrishna said that the task force has initiated many programmes to enhance the quality of government work and increase the technical competence of the engineers.
