Mangalore June 15: The BJP Mahila Morcha activists staged a protest in front of the DC’s office and urged authorities to take stern action against Warren Anderson, who was the chief of the Union Carbide when the Bhopal gas tragedy took the lives of several innocent people.
The Morcha submitted a memorandum to the president of India through the deputy commissioner, in which it expressed discontentment over the fact that Anderson is still free and warned that failure to arrest him will present a pathetic image of law and order in the country.
The activists also protested against the alleged misappropriation of flood relief funds by the Congress.
Sulochana G. K. Bhat, the state president of BJP Mahila Morcha; President Pulasya Rai; and others participated in the protest.
