Bantwal, June 17: After hearing public complaint about bad condition of road at BC Road (NH 48), V Ponnuraj, Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina District has ordered for a complete halt of vehicles movement at BC Raod on June 20 to remove the soil along the highway.
The order has been issued after conducting deep discussion with office bearers of taluk panchayat here on June 17.
Earlier, office-bearers of social welfare organisation and locals have demonstrated protest at NH 48 against the pathetic condition of road on June 14. They have protested by sowing grain along the highway.
After responding to their woes, Ponnuraj has visited the place. Ponnuraj, however, ordered to stop the current supply and remove all the electric poles instated along the road. He has also insisted to remove all the shops, which are obstructing to wide the road. If they fail to do so, district administration will take necessary action on Monday 20, he asserted.
On the occasion, Ravichandra Naik, tahsildar, Shivalinga Kondaguli, Chief officer, town municipality, Mohammed Iqbal, Vice president were present.
