Pradeep Kumar Kalkura elected as KSP president fourth time

Mangalore, Apr 30, 2012: Pradeep Kumar Kalkura has been elected as the president of the Kannada Sahithya Parishad (KSP), DK district unit, for the fourth time.

He won over his closest rival Sarvottam Anchan with a lead of 106 votes.

Only 974 of the total 1,932 voters cast their votes. The polling was held in the taluk offices of Mangalore, Bantwal, Puttur, Belthangady, and Sullia from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.


Speaking about his victory, Mr. Kalkura said that he has won because of those who voted for him in spite of opposition. The other contestants Harish Bantwal and Sarvottam Anchan won 149 and 358 votes, respectively. Three votes were considered invalid.


Neelavar Sugunendra Adiga has been elected as the KSP president for Udupi.
