Over 25 passengers injured in two separate accidents

Mangalore , June 28, 2012 : Two accidents have been reported from Udupi on June 28, Thursday, and around 25 passengers have been injured.

Fifteen passengers were injured when a private bus and a tanker collided head-on at Pangala on NH66. The accident caused a traffic block, which lasted nearly half an hour till the damaged vehicles were removed from the road. The drivers of both vehicles have been injured.

According to eyewitnesses, both the vehicles were moving at top speed. The driver of the tanker lost control over his vehicle when he was taking a turn at Pangala Junction, where road repair work is going on, and dashed into an express bus going from Mangalore to Udupi.

In another accident, several passengers were injured when a speeding bus dashed into an auto rickshaw at Mathada Kere near Kanthavara Cross in Karkala.
