Rachana Awards 2012 to be conferred on Nov 25

Mangalore, July 6, 2012 : Rachana Awards 2012 will be conferred on Nov 25, 2012 in Milagres Hall with Rev. Dr. Aloysius Paul D’Souza, bishop of Mangalore Diocese, presiding.

 Rachana has invited nominations for its awards. Each nomination must include photographs and must reach Rachana Office, Bishop’s House, Kodialbail, Mangalore – 575003 on or before July 31.

Rachana confers awards in five categories—Outstanding Woman of the Year, Agriculturist of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year, Professional of the Year, and NRI of the Year. Five separate panels of 3 judges each will select the award winner from the nomination list. Besides, they will also consider names of deserving candidates who are not nominated.

The Rachana Awards are annually conferred in recognition and appreciation of achievements in a wide range of fields. A panel of judges carefully selects the award winners for each year.

Each Rachana Award comprises a trophy, a citation, and a public felicitation with a peta, a shawl, fruits, and flowers.

Previous winners of the Rachana Awards are Flavia Agnes,social worker; Ronald Colaco, NRI entrepreneur and philanthropist; Justice Michael F. Saldanha; and others.

George Fernandes, former defense minister; M. Veerappa Moily, union corporate affairs minister; Margaret Alva, governor of Rajasthan; Justice Santhosh Hegde, former Lokayukta; and many other prominent people had graced the occasion at previous awards ceremonies.
