Ambedkar Prathishtana president demands explanation from BJP

Mangalore, July 10, 2012: Shivappa Renkada Guttu, president of the state unit of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Prathishtana, has demanded that the BJP high command must clearly state the reasons for removing D. V. Sadananda Gowda from the post of chief minister of Karnataka.

Expressing his appreciation of D. V. Sadananda Gowda, he said that Mr. Gowda is a great leader who can empathize with the underprivileged sections of society. He demanded that, if Jagadish Shettar is going to be installed as the chief minister in place of DVS, Dalit leader D. S. Veerayya and Moodigere MLA M. P. Kumaraswamy must be given posts of cabinet ministers.

Further, he demanded that all vacant posts reserved for Dalit candidates must be filled without delay. Complaining that the Ambedkar Development Department has become corrupt, he said that the state government must take strict action against those guilty of corruption. He also demanded COD investigation of this issue.
