Lady of Mount Carmel Feast celebrated at Infant Jesus Shrine

Mangalore, July 16, 2012 : The feast of the Lady of Mount Carmel was celebrated at Infant Jesus Shrine on Carmel Hill in Bikarnakatte on July 15, Sunday. A novena was held for nine days before the feast.

Fr. Vincent Monteiro, director of the Mangalore Diocesan Pastoral Institute in Bajjody, was the main celebrant of the festive mass with Fr. Joseph Martis, rector of St. Joseph’s Seminary; Fr. Henry Sequiera, chancellor of the Mangalore Diocese; Fr. Baptist Saldanha; Fr. John Sequeira; Fr. Elias D’Souza; Fr. Charles Serrao; Fr. Melwyn D’Cunha; Fr. Deep Fernandes, Fr. Gregory D’Souza, and many other priests as the concelebrants.

Fr. Pinto delivered the homily, in which he spoke of the importance of strengthening family bonds.

Fr. Pius James D’Souza, superior of St. Joseph’s Monastery in Bikarnakatee, delivered the vote of thanks.
