Samanvaya observes death anniversary of Konkani writer Victor Rodrigues

Mangalore, July 16, 2012: Samanvaya observed the second death anniversary of Victor Rodrigues, the Konkani writer, at Samanvaya Hall in Urwa Store on July 15, Sunday. 

The Victor Rodrigues Memorial Award was conferred on Stany Lobo, who writes under the pen name of Manu Bahrain, on this occasion. 

Fr. Pius Fidelis Pinto, managing trustee of Samanvaya, presided over the event. The chief guest was Dr. Edward Nazareth, orthopedic surgeon at Fr. Muller Hospital and Konkani writer. Dr. Nazareth addressed the gathering on the works of Victor Rodrigues. 

Fr. Ronald Cutinho, director of Samanvaya, delivered the welcome address. Dolphy Cascia introduced the chief guest. 

A number of Konkani writers and activists such as Richard Moras, convener of Konkani Kutam Bahrain, Judith Mascarenhas, Herolpius, CGS Taccode, J. F. D’Souza, Ron Roche, Gladys Rego, and others were present.
